Firefox Rank Checker Extension Now With Pretty Graphs

A member of the SEO Book community wanted to add graphs to the Rank Checker extension. Please give Site Rank Reporter a try, and leave feedback below. I have alerted him to this thread and he is anxious for your feedback.

A couple tips...

  • you must save the Rank Checker data to CSV before importing it to the Site Rank Reporter tool.
  • you have to have at least a few days worth of data to see the benefits of the charts.

Just a request - please carefully read the instructions before using. If you encounter any bugs, or just have some suggestions, after using the extension, we'd love to hear from you.

Thanks for this extension :-)

It only works with the CSV file from the "export results to CSV" and not with the "export history to CSV" (which can be found when you press open (and have a preset)) you might want to add support for that.

Also the results from today show as though they are from january the 1st instead of september the 30th.

Another susggestion: I would like to be able to see all keywords from one domain in the same graph.

Thanks for your feedback.

1) Support for the CSV generated by Export History will be included in the next version. We will probably only display one rank from each date though.

2) Are you referring to the sample CSV? That was named 1-1-08.csv, so it will show as January 1, 2008. Any other results should show as the date in the filename. M-D-YY, M-DD-YY, MM-D-YY, or MM-DD-YY are acceptable (but the filename cannot contain anything besides the date and the .csv extension).

3) Just to clarify - are you talking about an option to exclude everything but a single domain name from data that contains multiple domains in the same file? Otherwise, the add on does show all discovered keywords (even if they are not present in all CSVs), unless that keyword has no "real" rankings ("-") in any of the CSVs.

We have been using rank Checker for a couple of months and just decided to go look for different software in order to get graphing capability so your timing is excellent as we have not purchased anything yet.

There are also some defects in rank Checker which would be easy to fix...

1. the columns should be sortable by clicking column headers.
2. Column widths should be adjustable - it looks like you tried to do this but there seems to be some bug
3. URLs in the results should be clickable

It's a great little program so I hope you will polish it up!!

So in order to get this to work without the ability to read the csv file generated by the Export History function do I have to manually run a report each day and save it as the current date? I don't see a way to get Rank Checker to do this automatically. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can really see this tool as being a major addition to my current set of SEO tools.

This is correct, for now. The next version will implement support for the CSV generated by the Export History function of Rank Checker.

OK Cool. I've been saving by day with a macro, I really appreciate Site Rank Reporter. Looking forward to the export history version because I can see myself running many reports every couple days with these two sweet tools. Thanks again!

Web is a wonderful media. You don't have to follow exact and ideal structure. If You have 10 product and 2 are selling like 90% combined, so You may place these productss on first page. Place money-points to top-PR pages.

Help I don't understand, I've installed the Site Rank Reporter tool and restarted firefox.

It says it is installed now what?

I'm sorry I can't find your instructions?

How I'm meant to use this to produce graphs of the CVS's created by Rank Checker. It sounds really cool.

There should be some instructions on the site rank reporter page. If that does not help, could you email them for support and let us know what they say?

Just wanted to say a big thanks to both of you - it works beautifully. I've been thinking for awhile of knocking something like this up myself, but you've saved me the trouble.

I second Alex's request to be able to include the chart in the html export - it'd be nice to be able to share with clients / post progress online, etc.

Rank Checker and Site Rank Reporter are great tools for a bit of SEO! Do you plan to put them in one unique Firefox extensions in the future? Maybe adding some of the beutiful features someone suggested ;-)
Again, both tools are simply great!

Rank Checker and Site Rank Reporter should be one unique GREAT tool, expecially now that Site Rank Reporter is not available for Firefox 4.
Rank Checker is always updated and developped, while Site Rank Reporter seems to be unsupported since far.
Hope to see this unique and ultimate SEO tool as soon as possible! :-P

Any movement on developing reporting/graphing tools to share results with clients in a visual and historical format?

October 31, 2011 - 3:02am

...I am playing with the beta of it right now, but not sure when we will launch it.
