Hosting Content Articles... ____ Business Model

Recently Andy Baio noticed another powerful site hosting off topic high margin content.

It looks as though Google has already banned Syndic8. The comments are looking like they might be somewhat interesting.

I'm just curious where some of these people get off? Some of their arguments simply boil down to believing that if a person has a highly ranked site, there aren't allowed to monetize it, or if they have high PR, they aren't allowed to use that to their advantage. They seem to believe one is supposed to just put a site up, and let the chips fall where they may. If successful, HOORAY! If not, well, thems the breaks. But, under NO circumstances are you to do anything to make your site do better. Sorry, "build it and they will come" only works in the movies.
