Thanks Aaron, it was great meeting with you out at Pubcon Boston. I just downloaded the free version of Clicktracks I don't see a time frame on the evaluation this would be perfect for small companies... Great Software.

Great Software however this is a very limited version more like a promo tool it gives you just enough almost all of the tools do not work it just shows a screenshot of what you could see for your site. However some areas work like the page analysis overlay tool. I will keep playing to see what else they have open for free. Thanks again Aaron.

There are hundreds of Web Analytics software products out there - it has become a pain to choose one! What the heck, I am happy with my cPanel logs. Maybe I am missing something.

Google Analytics is the best free program we've found. It's easy to use, easy to implement, and has enterprise level capabilities. It can be a bit slow at times since it's entirely web-based, but I imagine that will improve.

Clicktracks are waking up since Google Analytics is going to take over their market.

It wouldn't be difficult for Google to clone Clicktracks as a download - for free.

Kind of frightening when the Big Boys move in on your game

Clicktracks was great, but it was always over-priced for the smaller user. Google's screwed up their product life-cycle, that's for sure.

Seems to me they're responding too little, too late. They'd be best going for market penetration at a very, very low price. The premium pricing phase is over, fellas - it was over a long time ago.

It's possible that a selling point is that they are 'non-Google- i.e user information isn't being tracked as it might be in Google Analytics.

It's more likely though that webmasters will harbour the suspicion that their user information IS being tracked, and will see that as a plus point - now Google has a great view of just how brilliant their site is!

Schadenfreude.

If only Clicktrack's pricing plan had been more flexible and the product had been available to a wider market ! They'd have a wide and loyal customer base and a little bit of time in which to innovate
