Google Dance Getting Mainstream Press Coverage

Google dance keeps company engineers, Internet entrepreneurs hopping includes information about:

  • THE couch

  • black hats
  • keyword stuff - which really ought to be modernized & replaced with the term "link stuffing"
  • dancing
  • and a nickname that may well stick, the Mick Jagger of search. To get an appreciation of how swamped Matt was take a look at Chris R's picture of Matt, literally being cornered in.
  • I am a bit surprised that the writer did not research to see how some people got to meet Larry & Sergy at the dance.

Yeah I saw this exact same article but on CNN.com - http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/08/20/google.dance.ap/index.html

It doesn't get more mainstream than CNN! It was on a link on their homepage and is the featured article in the "technology" section.

The best bit comes at the end:

"Everything you ever wanted to know about Google is right there on the (online) forums that the webmasters run," Norvig said. "There is a lot of truth in there, but there's also a lot of crazy stuff. We just don't tell them which is which."
