Google PageRank Update, Please Help...

I was in and out around the end of the year and just finally got back home in a somewhat stable state today. It looks as though Google has finally updated toolbar PageRank again, and I have been reading bits about the horrible tsunami.

To try my best to help out, for the month of January I am going to send all my SEO Book sales income to help out with relief from the storm. I think Paypal eats about $2 out of each order, but other than that the remainder will go to help out Sarvodaya.

If you want to help out you can donate directly to any of the tsunami relief funds.

Just thought I would post a SEO update from the Tsunami Appeal website I mentioned previously.

The site is increasingly becoming more popular by the day. In the past week the site has improved ranks dramatically jumping over 100 positions to #17 for the term "tsunami appeal".

Thanks Aaron for your book and advice,
Its been helpful :)

Marcus

The page-rank update is up for some sites and down for others. Still looking for the right mixture of Pixie dust ...

Hi Aaron:

Thanks for mentioning Sarvodaya. Yesterday I was thinking of making a donation to one of the organizations helping with the tsunami relief effort and decided to do some research on Sarvodaya after reading your post. I wasn't aware of them, but after doing some research I ended up very impressed with their work and their approach, to the point that I also decided to channel my donation through them.

All the best,
Mario Sanchez

Hi Aaron and all;

Firstly, good on you Aaron for your generous donation.

Like most of you, I have been trying to think of ways that I can help out using my skills in a constructive manner.

A couple of days ago I was approached by The Oaktree Foundation to develop them a website for their Tsunami Appeal

Anyway, I have just finished the layout and am now about to start on some SEO work. Currently, the website is ranking 1st for "tsunamiappeal" and 167th for "tsunami appeal". As you may have noticed now, this post has a hidden agenda (link on seobook.com :) ) But im sure you will all understand.

If anyone has a chance to look at www.tsunamiappeal.info I would appreciate any adice on how I could improve its rank in SERPs.

Cheers,
Marcus

IMHO search engines are listing lots of donation sites right on their home page. I think rather than trying to do tons of SEO stuff it would be better just to try to reach other webmasters you are associated with and try to have them help you...and that naturally will also improve the rank of the site.

Hi Aaron,
what a fantastic thing you are doing giving all your money to the tsunami relief appeal. I have started reading your site each day and have been learning alot about your ideas to SEO. I have a site that gives ideas on how to get the best from articles I believe that will help with listings. I work for a UK ISP ( www.businessserve.co.uk ) I have put this blog togeter in the last 2 months with over 300 articles allrady. I so believe in blogs they are the future of the those who want to succeed on the net. They are the future. Fair play again for your decent and honest donation. I hope that you get lots to help with the cause.
