Beautiful Political Marketing

Andy Hagans made a great post about how the Ron Paul brand is being built online. Robert Greenwald recently launched another new film at, where the headline could not be better:

President Bush won't fire Attorney General Alberto Gonzales... but YOU can! Most lead generation forms are probably less than 10% as effective as the Impeach Gonzalez site is. The introductory email was amazing as well, starting with

The Gonzales hearings made plain for all to see that the highest law enforcement officer in the land is unwilling to tell the truth under oath.

and ending with

Don't just be angry, don't just be annoyed, don't yell at the ones you love. IMPEACH GONZALES.

Let's get to work! Watch the video and send it to everyone you know.

Democracy is a beautiful thing.

A domain with resonance, a relevant story, content in small easy to digest chunks, background links, a prominent call to action, viral elements, strong framing, and emotional appeal... everything you could want in a political marketing campaign designed to spread.

Whether you agree with the messages, both are already successful marketing campaigns given their budget.

"The fact that he's a serious racist and anti-semitic will eventually be highlighted by the blog world too..."

Well, this one just doesn't have legs despite continued attempts to push it:

Crowning irony: here's a guy running for *PRESIDENT* who would actually *end* America's Apartheid. That is, the so called "War on (some) Drugs". And you wanna talk about racism?

As far as AIPAC, so what? You're saying AIPAC doesn't drive US foreign policy? And that objecting to that, or for that matter finding anything objectionable about Zionism, makes Dr. Paul (or me) a racist ("antisemite")? eh... this stuff isn't gonna wash anymore.

Time for change.

Good find, Aaron - The laugh track was a nice touch.

I don't know if Ron Paul is succeeding in any measurable way with voters. This recent gallup poll has him at zero.

The fact that he's a serious racist and anti-semitic will eventually be highlighted by the blog world too...

The Ron Paul brand marketing is the type that the movie "Idiocracy" was parodying.

Do we really live in a democracy or is our freedom controlled by the deception of the idea of the American dream?

Does our vote really count for anything anymore when large sums of money are not involved?

Hi John

The fact that he's a serious racist and anti-semitic

Which makes his early success even more remarkable.

the first link you have pointing to the Impeach site is misspelled.

Great post BTW!

I don't agree. This site looks like many other conspiracy theories publications - dots are not connected and citations are out of context.

So - the site looks very cheap and the whole campaign creators think that people are dumb which is a bad mistake. I predict it will have narrow margin success.
