International Keyword Research Tool

I took down my old Overture powered keyword tool and replaced it using Wordtracker data because:

  • I like Wordtracker's data more
  • Wordtracker's API is much more reliable than scraping data from Overture
  • the Overture tool seems like it has been down more often than it has been up recently

I primarily focus on the US market and did not realize how popular the international aspects of the old keyword research tool were until I started getting a rash of email complaints after taking the tool down.

So I put the old keyword tool back up, renamed it the international keyword suggestion tool, and defaulted it to using UK values (while still allowing users to grab data from other regional markets). I also zipped it up here, so anyone can install it on their site, and set it to a different default language if they like.

Hey Aaron-

Thanks for putting up the international tool. Any chance of adding some keyword data for the Canadian market? Tested out the new US keyword tool this weekend and it rocks!

Hi fthead9
Honestly I intend to support the Overture tool as long as they are still live, but do not plan on expanding it much between now and when it dies, as I am a bit strapped for time and am working on way too many projects.

Thanks Aaron.

Over what timescale are the WT results taken? There's quite a few unique results in there that are unlikely to be replicated for a long time. You say it offers rough monthly search volumes for the big 3 SEs, but what I see in your WT tool are NOT the same generic phrases that I see in Google Adwords and Overture. Google Adwords and Overture overlap / tie in considerably but I don't see that here.

Also, your archives stop at September. I'd like to see Nov/Dec
:-)

Is it my imagination or are your posts un-dumbing-down? If so, yippee!

Hi Richard

I will try to fix the archives issue ASAP.

I an unsure, but I think the Wordtracker database contains keywords data for ~ 3 months.

As far as dumbing down goes, not sure where my writing is at any given point in time. I can tell you that when I write accessible posts that most people understand that my sales volumes are about double what they are when I write stuff that fewer people can understand.
