Biography

Bio in a Nutshell:
I made good money on Wall Street and had a lot of fun. But all the material goods could not keep me from going morally and spiritually bankrupt, and falling into a deep depression that led to alcohol and drug abuse as I tried to help myself feel better. Addiction began to grab me and I sought help and kicked it all, and now have focused on building the largest sober living site in the country in an effort to help others. Happy as hell.

The detailed version of a living hell:
I was just a regular guy, cruising in the fast lane having fun and a great career in life when bipolar depression grabbed me and kicked my butt for about 4 years. I didn't know what was going on until I got treated, and am now back to my old self.

But when I was feeling terrible I wanted to drink and drug my way back to feeling better, and while I had a great career on Wall Street, I decided to stop chasing money around and do something that could make a meaningful difference in someone's life after I kicked all the habits. My new calling is to help other people who may be getting their asses kicked, or who are having problems with drinking and/or drugs. I don't believe the majority of rehabs do anything but bring you down easy, then send you on your merry way -- until next time, which they gladly await. It's a financial fiesta in recovery, and people could be getting better if they were properly diagnosed and treated for their mood disorders, too. That's because the affected person likely has an underlying mood disorder of depression, anxiety, or other common ones, and he or she probably doesn't even know it. Until you are properly diagnosed, you can't live a regular happy life. This is the case for perhaps 75% of people on the alcohol/addiction merry-go-round.

What works as a complement to treatment where at least 50% of true recover is regained occurs at sober livings or halfway houses. There the ex-patients live in a supportive environment where they have enough rope to hang themselves , so they need to practice using the tools they learned in treatment. I started the development of the country's first truly national sober living and halfway house search site where anybody can find houses around them wherever they are, as we have about 7000 entries as of 7/2011.

The site is ranked 36,000 out of all websites in the USA, which is incredible for a pure sober living site, and we do about 22,000 house searches a month right now (and climbing). Houses pay to join the site, and in return get a ton of referrals. I am truly happy and feel a sense of real spiritual peace for the first time in my life. I never thought life without drugs and alcohol for me could be so incredible. I am a lucky man.
