Here's Why I Am Here
I am a ecommerce sales and marketing professional from the Buffalo, NY area. There are not a lot of search/online marketers here in Buffalo, probably because no one around here uses the internet (seriously). I one of those, "does it because they love it types" which means I am connected via my desktop, laptop or cell phone 18 - 20 hours a day. I don't view work as work - to me it is fun. If friends and family let me, I'd probably have fun 24/7.
This Is What I Do
Currently, I am the Director of Marketing and Business Development for VoIP Supply, the leading online retailer of VoIP hardware and services in North America. I have been with the company since 2003 and have lead the marketing and business development efforts since 2004 that has seen the company grow from $2.5 million in sales to over $26 million in 2007, primarily from efforts put forth in online marketing through search engine optimization, paid search, comparison shopping, affiliate marketing and various other social media marketing efforts.
How I Got Here
I have been involved in online marketing since 2000 when I began making money gaming the pay-per-ad browser tools bars through looping scripts that I had a friend build. After I realized that their was more to the internet than free term papers and porn, I began working on various affiliate sites and eventually got in to search engine optimization to help increase my rankings and revenues. From 2002 to 2004, I took a break from affiliate marketing (seo as well, but i still kept up with my existing sites) and ran two successful eBay ventures which I sold to some local companies. Since early 2004, I have until very recently, been a one man online marketing department. The vast experiences that I gained over the last four years in a wide variety of online marketing verticals (or channels) has allowed me to possess a wide scoping knowledge of how to dominant a marketplace online.
