- Biography
Traditional journalist turned corporate communications specialist turned interactive marketing pro. I have a Bachelors degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University.
I started working on web development in 1996, when people thought this "world wide web thing" was just a fad. I can remember clearly how excited we used to get over an e-mail a month coming through our first 7-page brochure-ware website. I'm a trained writer, graphic designer, and photographer, and I think in software keyboard shortcuts. The last few years, I've been specializing in message strategy, website usability, search engine marketing, and internet commerce.
In the course of working on the web, I've learned to write HTML and program my own perl scripts, write simple javascripts, use CSS for layouts, and am currently diving into the world of PHP programming and SMARTY template systems. It's been rumored that some clandestine affair with a Googler has gotten me my outstanding SERP results, but it's really just good clean coding and taking advantage of the right tags on the right pages.
I'm good at what I do, but I realize there's a lot more I can learn. And so I'm here... open to any coaching that may come my way.

Free Daily SEO Tips
Many people who get our free tools also sign up to get our free 7-days to SEO success series. This originally started out as a 7-part series, and over the years we have added about a dozen bonus tips covering a wide array of related business topics. We sorta started out as SEOs who learned a boatload about business and human nature in the process.
Day 9 is the one in the series I am most proud of, but we get a lot of feedback from readers who have different ones as their favorites, which helps inspire us to share more. If you ever miss a day, you can use the navigation in the lower right of the daily tips to catch up (or get ahead). And here is the overview page, which lists the entire series. Hopefully sharing that link didn't kill anticipation. ;)
Here is a bonus guide for figuring out the value of a top Google ranking.
Welcome aboard and here is to wishing you the luck and the hard work needed to dominate Google and your market!
Cheers,
Aaron / Giovanna / Eric / Peter & the SEO Book team!
