3 years after that horrible event occured (and a few months before the upcoming election) September will now become "National Preparedness Month."

What is interesting about the upcoming month is:

• Why did we wait 3 years to have it?

• Why is it being announced on the 9^TH of the month if it is running the entire month?

A couple posts ago I talked about a weird bug in Yahoo! search where they labeled some PDFs with some weird label. I originally found that in the Internet Marketing Research forums. I would like to point you there, but I can't.

John decided he didn't like that name no more and he moved the IMR forums over to the V7N Web Developement Community. He added a bunch of other cool features to the site. Graphics and scripting resources, regional seo & designer directories...lots of cool stuff. He just needs to get my full book review up there still.

Everyone should be able to laugh every once in a while. The last couple days I have been running into a few sites, so I figured it would only be fair to share.

Cool site #1 http://www.checkpr.com/ - citation: being a knock off site of Prog / Proogle. either he is reselling the software, or someone else is selling the exact thing that is on his site.

Cool site #2 http://www.trafficpowersucks.com/ - citation: found this puppy in my server logs. apparently the site owner has a big thumbs down for the services traffic power provides. the owner of that site may actually be more blunt than I am!!!

Cool site #3 http://www.blogspam.org/ - citation: this guy took the movement of the blog spam comment fight and used it to gain link popularity into a fake front about him wanting to stop blog comment spam.

his site now has sponsors, services, links and advertising sections right on the home page. in these sections he has great worthy blog community type causes such as:

• Discount cigarettes

• Cialis
• Canadian Pharmacy
• Canada Pharmacy
• Canadian Pharmacies Canada Prescriptions

It is odd that his links are extremely similar to those left by prescription drug addicts who frequently forget their name and leave their favorite drugs in my blogs. On his site David describes himself as a "leader of an anti-spam movement."

Way to go David. If only we all had your convictions or inner strength!

So this is going to sound absolutely stupid, but much of what I say does :)

I am going to take reality tv meets search engine marketer meets crazy diet trend and make it fun. I have been rather lazy recently and my diet has been aweful. I decided that I could create a blog about losing 30 pounds in 2 months and try to get the blog top rankings by the end of two months also.

A gimick you say? Only if it doesn't work. The name of my blog is Fatty Weight Loss (I am fatty, and I aim to lose weight). The goals are:

• to go from 222 lbs to 192 lbs by July 15

• rank #1 on Google for "weight loss" by July 15

My roommate is a huge Pixies fan. He thought it would be a good idea for us to go to Coachella. I will thus be going to California and unfortuantely leaving this blog behind for a couple days.

You can still get your Coachella tickets on eBay. I will be the kid with an orange shirt and green tent.

If Google announces their IPO while I am gone I will sneak into their complex and nab a Segway while nobody is looking. I figure my Google Pin should be enough to get me through the front door.

Hopefully spammers will keep this blog active while I am gone. Just to get them rolling I will spam my own blog.
