Google is soon to offer a desktop text and file searching software solution.

Will Google create an operating system before Longhorn comes out?

Finally a search-engine-class tool to search your computer. I was really excited way back in 1997 when Altavista released it's personal computer search tool. It was awesome! I could find anything on my computer instantly. Then Altavista stopped supporting it (or otherwise faded into obscurity).

Good to see that finally after 7 years there will be a personal search tool again. Any idea why it took so long???
