Voice Activated Web Browser
This is HUGE!!!
Opera is working with IBM's ViaVoice technology to create a voice activated web browser. No launch date has been given, and the new Opera product is currently in Beta testing.
For search and the modern interface to jump to the next level they will need to better understand what we want through reading our emotions. One of the first steps in that direction will be to take inputs from things other than the mouse and keyboard.
I love when I read good books and the timing intertwines with amazing news on the same topic. Speaking of that, give Steven Berlin Johnson's Interface Culture : How New Technology Transforms the Way We Create and Communicate a try if you are interested in the history of the modern computer interface.

Sucky idea. I listen to the radio while I work. The last thing I want to do is talk to my computer.
However, I could see talking into my cellphone saying:
WEB
MAPS DOT YAHOO DOT COM
SAY SPEED [1|2|3|4|5] DIRECTIONS
FROM
[WHERE I AM]
TO
[WHERE I WANT TO GO]
STOP
