Apparently when AOL signed a contract with Google in 2002 they were issued warrents for 1.9 million shares of prefered stock in Google for $22 million. AOL has the opportunity to convert these warrents into stock purchases. If Google files for IPO these purchased prefered stock will automatically turn to common stock.
